June 2026 Hackathon Radar — Remote-Only Cut

· 1 min read

Two weeks ago I ranked the 16 platforms I'd actually trust to find paid hackathons. This is the follow-through: I opened every one of them and kept only the builds you can enter without booking a flight. One hard filter — remote-only — plus a one-week-minimum runway, stamped as of June 16, 2026 (deadlines move; treat this as a snapshot, not a live feed).

By default the table shows the enterable ones. Flip "Show closed/dead" to see what I cut and why — including a few in-person events left in (greyed, 📍) so you can watch the remote filter do its job.

What to double-check before you build (21)
  • Casper Agentic Buildathon: DoraHacks blocks automated checks — confirm deadline + eligibility on the live page. Three Casper events exist; this is the $150K Agentic Buildathon.
  • ETHOnline 2026: Registration opens closer to the date — verify the exact window on the live page.
  • AMD Developer Hackathon: ACT II: Headline ~$20K bundles a GPU + cloud credits; the cash pool (~$10K) is what's counted here.
  • Build with Gemini XPRIZE: Not a weekend hack — a 90-day build-a-real-business track. The $2M headline is spread across 25 prizes.
  • AI Genesis 2026: Online submission is fully competitive; the Dubai finals are optional/invite-only and not travel-covered.
  • Snowflake CoCo CLI: Confirm the exact event URL on Hack2skill before registering.
  • CROO Agent Hackathon: DoraHacks — confirm the exact deadline on the live page.
  • Stellar Hacks: Real-World ZK: DoraHacks — tight window; confirm the exact deadline on the live page before committing.
  • Pharos AI Carnival (Phase 2): Prize is 150K $PROS tokens (USD value uncertain) — counted as $0 in the pool. One phase carries 'University' branding; confirm Phase 2 is open to non-students.
  • BLI Legal Tech Hackathon 2: Exact deadline unconfirmed (listed ~99 days out) — verify on the live page.
  • MunichTech Innovation 2026: Corporate prize amount unspecified — counted as $0. Pre-registration; confirm details on the live page.
  • Hack-Nation Global AI (MIT): Off my 16-platform list (surfaced adjacent) — confirm a registration window is still open.
  • Kite AI Global Hackathon: Off my 16-platform list (Encode Club) — confirm dates + prize on the live page.
  • Colosseum Q3 Flagship: Registration opens ~late Aug/Sep — watch for the announcement.
  • Band of Agents: Closes Jun 19 — inside the 1-week runway cutoff, too soon to start a fresh build.
  • QVAC Hackathon I: Closes ~Jun 21 — inside the runway cutoff.
  • BNB Hack: AI Trading Agent Edition: Closes ~Jun 21 — inside the runway cutoff.
  • Arbitrum Open House Dubai: Postponed 'until further notice' per the Arbitrum Foundation blog (regional security); hoped reschedule ~end of 2026. The NYC/London/India editions have all closed.
  • ExecuTorch Hackathon (Qualcomm × Meta): In-person only (San Francisco) — excluded by the remote hard-filter. Left in so you can see the filter working.
  • Production Agents Hackathon: In-person only (San Francisco) — excluded by the remote hard-filter.
  • Moonshot Hackathon: Students-only — excluded (not a student). Left in to show the eligibility filter, not just the location one.

How to read the fit column

"Fit" is a neutral relevance score for a builder working in AI agents, Solana, and EVM — 🎯🎯🎯 sits squarely in that lane, ➖ is off it. It's a lens, not a verdict; a $2M XPRIZE is still a $2M XPRIZE regardless of how many targets it carries.

What jumped out

  • The whole board is AI agents. Nearly every live remote hackathon this month is an agent build — memory agents, trading agents, on-chain agents, agent-commerce. If you ship agents, June 2026 is your month.
  • Headline ≠ cash. The biggest numbers hide the most asterisks: one "150K" is a token, one "$2M" is a 90-day build-a-business track, and a couple fold GPU/credits into the figure. The prize-pool stat counts cash only.
  • Two platforms carry the field. DoraHacks and Devpost host almost everything still open and remote. Colosseum and Superteam are between seasons; Devfolio, TAIKAI, HackerEarth and AKINDO returned nothing remote-and-enterable this pass.

Swept from my own 16-platform ranking on June 16, 2026; every deadline, prize, and eligibility re-checked against each event's page. DoraHacks entries especially: confirm on the live page before you commit.
